Visit of Great Historian

On 10 June 2022 Sr. Harpreet Singh Bhatti, Vice Principal Government Senior Secondary School, Batala and S. Harvinder Singh, Production Manager Markfed were invited to Sant Baba Bhag Singh University by Mr. Jatinder Jay Minhas, NRI social worker and great philanthropist of village Damunda, President and CEO, Elegant Development Inc and honorary advisor international affairs SBBS University. In this event, S. Hardaman Singh Minhas, Secretary Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Charitable Society welcomed and introduced S. Harpreet Singh Bhatti to the audience. S. Harpreet Singh Bhatti is a great historian, academician and agriculturist who is currently exploring the unexplored incidents and areas of world wars. He is member of sikh military forum and young innovative council of farmers of Punjab. On this platform, Sr. Harpreet Singh Bhatti emphasized about first Sikh regiment raised by British army in 1846, followed by other Battalions who fought bravely in World Wars. He stressed on the need to bridge the gap in the military history He informed the audience that five persons from adampur area were martyred in World War I while another two persons namely Gurmukh Singh Minhas and Jeewan Singh Minhas from village damunda which is just 4 kms away from the University were martyred in Battle of Saragarhi.
He also stressed that the present generation is losing heritage of Punjab and emphasized that the researchers should be motivated to explore the history of people martyred in World Wars. He suggested that the University should create Sant Baba Bhag Singh Global Alumni Association to promote and coordinate the alumni working on exploring the history of Punjab.
On this occasion, esteemed faculty of the University appreciated the efforts undertaken by S. Harpreet Singh Bhatti and acknowledged to take the initiative in exploring and maintaining the heritage of martyrs of Punjab.
