Workshop on "Latest Trends in Factory I/O & Automation"

Objectives:

1. To enhance the technical skills of students.
2. To improve the analytical and logical skills of students.
3. To encourage team work.

• The RYB Club, Deptt of EE, SBBSU (in collaboration with Wonder Systems Pvt. Ltd, SAS Nagar, Punjab) organized a workshop on “Latest Trends in Factory I/O & Automation”, on 27th Sept, 2023.
• The resource person was, Ms. Harsween Kaur, Director, Wonder Systems India Pvt. Ltd, Mohali.
• A total of 70 students of EE an ME department attended the workshop.
• Participants were introduced to the S7-Microwin Smart software.
• Logic gates including AND, OR, NOT, NAND NOR were implemented through ladder logic programming using Siemens S7-200 (CPU-ST20) PLC.
• Hardware implementation of the logic gates was done using NO and NC switches.
• Factory I/O (3D factory simulation) as a PLC training platform was also discussed since PLCs are the most common controllers found in industrial applications.
• The workshop was a wonderful learning experience for all the attendees.
