With the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dlawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji) under the supervision and patronage of Honorable Chancellor, Sant Sarwan Singh Ji and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dharamjit Singh Parmar, The Gender Championship Implementation Committee, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, organized a gender sensitization expert talk on 18th February on the topic “Gender Champions”. The session was led by the Chairperson of the committee, Dr. Ramandeep Chahal as a keynote speaker. The event was held in the block 7 of the university. The aim of this session was to make the young boys and girls especially the newcomers gender sensitive and create positive environment that value the girls and their rights. Approximately 30-40 students participated in the event.
During the session, Dr. Chahal emphasized that for the holistic progress of society both the genders hold a vital position, so gender disparity in any form retards the social growth. Also she motivated the students to give equal respect to both the genders and support gender justice. Besides, the students were inspired by Dr. Chahal to be a part of the gender sensitization activities and contribute actively towards gender equality. The lecture was followed by queries of the students. The Chairperson of the committee ended the session with a slogan “We are all Equal”.
